Maata's speciality is in health, tikanga Maori, dying, death, and after death comes from her nursing background. She is a Registered General Nurse 1973 and completed studies in Matauranga Maori with a special interest in Iwi Resource Management. The knowledge Maata brings to the team is deep and meaningful it comes from living close to the bush where her family had to rely on the bush and the land to live.
